What we do in Muñoz
Muñozonian USA supports students, teachers and families in the Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija — a farming city in Central Luzon, Philippines, and home to Central Luzon State University. We are Muñozonians living in the United States, giving back since 1991.
Scholarships
Scholarships for students at Central Luzon State University High School in Muñoz — our core program since 1991.
The need
For many Muñoz families the cost of keeping a student in school — fees, books, uniforms, the daily ride — competes with the cost of food on the table. A scholarship takes that choice off the table.
What we do
We fund scholarships for students at CLSU High School in Muñoz, chosen and followed through by our officers, and we stay in touch with the school.
Adopt-A-Family
Noche Buena and Media Noche food baskets for families in Muñoz, bought locally.
The need
Noche Buena on Christmas Eve and Media Noche on New Year's Eve are the meals Filipino families gather around all year. For families without steady income in Barangay Poblacion, they are the first thing to go.
What we do
In December 2020 we fed 30 families in Poblacion West and 30 in Poblacion East with baskets of rice, corned beef, coffee, bread and other staples — every item bought in Muñoz so the town's own stores benefit too. We did it again for Noche Buena 2021.

Support for Community
Standing with Muñoz families in hard times, from 1990s missions to COVID-19 relief.
The need
Muñoz families meet emergencies with little to fall back on. When COVID-19 lockdowns closed the town down, daily-wage families lost their income overnight, barangay by barangay — and long before that, basic dental and medical care meant a trip and a fee many households could not manage.
What we do
Our largest effort was Tulong Laban sa COVID — “help against COVID” — which brought relief across Muñoz's barangays, from Poblacion to Villa Santos, Central and Magtanggol, working with Fr. Ariel Capuyon of San Sebastian Parish and MUSA members on the ground. In the 1990s the same instinct took the form of medical and topical-fluoride missions, and donations of books and equipment to Muñoz schools.
